Crooked Kingdom: a sequel to Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. 480 p. Henry Holt & Co./ Macmillan, September 27, 2016. 9781627792134.

Publisher synopsis: Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn't think they'd survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they're right back to fighting for their lives. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz's cunning and test the team's fragile loyalties. A war will be waged on the city's dark and twisting streets—a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of magic in the Grisha world.

This is a thrilling and satisfying sequel to the #1 New York Times-bestselling Six of Crows.

I recently read Six of Crows with my ears and absolutely cannot wait for the sequel! If you love fantasy with vivid worldbuilding and complex, flawed characters, read Six of Crows. This is due to drop on my birthday! I now have two books pre-ordered as birthday gifts to myself.

ETA (3/2): At the time I set up this post, there were no cover images. This morning, I did another check and discovered that the LA times did an exclusive review on Feb. 22. Here's a link to the article. Hop on over there for a sneak peak! This cover is fantastic! Love it!
